Notice given under Rule 5 of the of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules 2006
1 There is a vacancy on the Parish Council cause by the resignation of Annabel Rous
2 A by-election to fill the vacancy will be held if, not later than Monday 31 of March 2025, ten electors for the parish give notice in writing, claiming such an election be held, to the Returning Officer. If no such notice is given the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option

About Abbotts Ann
Abbotts Ann is a village and parish of the same name. Abbotts Ann is one of 59 parishes in Test Valley. It has an area of 1,218.75 hectares which represents 2.04% of the total area of Test Valley. The parish includes areas around the village itself, namely Little Ann, Little Park, Abbotts Ann Down and an area of Anna Valley.
In terms of size Abbotts Ann is Test Valley's fifteenth largest parish. The parish population is 1,309 and the population density is 1.02 people per hectare.
The parish has a thriving community, with an award-winning village shop, church, state of the art primary school, nursery school, several community/ leisure facilities and two pubs. The Parish Council meetings take place on the first Thursday of every month usually in the War Memorial Hall.
